The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, in association with, Computer Science and Engineering, organized a workshop titled “RISC-V in Action: Hands-on with RIPES” on 6th March 2026 at the Skill Development Lab. The workshop was conducted for S4 ADS and CSE students with the objective of providing practical exposure to RISC-V architecture and processor simulation using the RIPES simulator. The session was handled by Mr. Lomin Joy, Senior Project Engineer, IIT Palakkad, who explained the fundamentals of processor architecture, instruction formats, register operations, and pipeline stages in detail.
The workshop began with an introduction to the RISC-V instruction set architecture and its importance in modern processor design. Students were then introduced to the RIPES simulator, where they learned about register views, memory access, and pipeline visualization. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants executed simple RISC-V assembly programs and observed the step-by-step movement of instructions through various stages such as Instruction Fetch, Decode, Execute, Memory Access, and Write Back.
The session was highly interactive, and students actively participated by experimenting with different instructions and clarifying their doubts with the resource person. The workshop helped students develop a better understanding of low-level programming concepts, processor components, and instruction execution. Overall, the event successfully enhanced the practical and conceptual knowledge of participants in the field of computer architecture and simulation.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science of Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology, Payyanur, organized a workshop titled “WebCraft – Web Building Workshop” on 27 February 2026 at the Skill Development Lab from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The workshop was conducted with the objective of enhancing students’ knowledge and practical skills in web development and modern website creation techniques.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Sreeraj S, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Engineering Thrikkarippur. He provided detailed guidance on the fundamentals of web designing, website structure, and the latest trends in web technologies. The session included practical demonstrations and interactive activities that helped students understand the process of developing responsive and user-friendly websites.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Divya C from the AP ADS Department and Ms. Ramya K V from the AP CSE Department. Students actively participated in the workshop and gained hands-on experience in web building tools and techniques.
The workshop was highly informative and beneficial for the participants, as it improved their technical knowledge and encouraged them to explore opportunities in web development and software design. The program concluded successfully with positive feedback from students and faculty members.
