HACK THE ICE : The training session began with the Welcome Address by Mr. Manuwanth K M.The Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence organized a motivational and interactive workshop titled “HACK THE ICE” for the first-year students with the aim of motivating students and helping them develop confidence, positivity, communication skills, and leadership qualities. The program was conducted on 17 January 2026 at Swami Bodhananda Hall at 10:00 AM under the coordination of Ms. Divya C and Ms. Rahna Chandran, Ms. Nirupama Kannan and Ms. Ramya K V. The session was handled by Mr. Arunjith Perambra, Founder of The MindQuest Academy, who conducted the workshop in a highly energetic and engaging manner.
The workshop was specially designed for first-year students to help them adapt to the college environment and overcome hesitation, fear, and lack of confidence. The session began with introductory interactions and ice-breaking activities that encouraged students to communicate freely with their classmates and actively participate in the program. Various fun-filled games and activities were organized throughout the session to create a friendly and positive atmosphere among the students.
Several communication-based activities were conducted to improve students’ interaction skills, self-expression, and public speaking abilities. Students were encouraged to share their thoughts, participate in discussions, and work together in teams. These activities helped students improve their confidence in speaking and interacting with others. Leadership activities were also included in the workshop to help students understand the importance of teamwork, coordination, responsibility, and decision-making. Group tasks and collaborative exercises enabled students to develop leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
The workshop also focused on building positivity and motivation among students. The resource person shared inspiring thoughts and practical guidance on maintaining self-confidence, developing a positive attitude, and overcoming fear and stress in academic life. Through different games and group activities, students learned the value of cooperation, trust, participation, and mutual support. The interactive nature of the session made the students more active, enthusiastic, and comfortable with their peers.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the first-year students of the Department of Computer Science. Students actively engaged in all activities and responded positively throughout the session. The session was conducted for S8 CSE students with the objective of providing insights into the latest technological trends and industry-relevant tools shaping the future of computer science and engineering. The session was delivered by Mr. Karthik Nambiar from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The program was coordinated by Ms. Anagha M, Assistant Professor, CSE Department. The resource person shared valuable insights on emerging technologies, modern development tools, higher education opportunities abroad, research culture, and the importance of continuous learning to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an expert talk and workshop
on 19th September 2025 at 9:00 AM at ADS Computer Lab attended by S5 CSE students. The
objective was to introduce the fundamentals of Cybersecurity and offer hands-on experience
through some penetration testing. The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Ismail KKP,
Student of S5 CSE, who expressed gratitude to the participants and faculty for their active
engagement and support. The session began with a lecture by Mr. Bineesh K. B., introducing
the participants to Networks and Cybersecurity. He covered an introduction to cybersecurity,
ethical hacking, creating virtual PCs using VirtualBox and VMware, practicing basic Linux
commands, installation of Kali Linux, Metasploitable 2, network traffic analysis, Wireshark,
Nmap, Whois/Nslookup, and their real-world applications, along with the challenges and
future scope of cybersecurity in emerging technologies. The talk also highlighted ethical
considerations and best practices in information gathering and penetration testing.
The hands-on session was conducted from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the ADS Computer Lab,
where students had the opportunity to practice information gathering and perform penetration
testing under the guidance of the resource person. Students worked individually and completed
all the hands-on workshop activities. The participants found the workshop useful in bridging
the gap between theory and practical applications. Feedback collected from both the students
and the resource person was overwhelmingly positive, indicating strong engagement and
interest.
The expert talk and hands-on workshop provided a valuable and enriching learning experience
for all participants. The practical sessions, in particular, enabled students to apply their

IGNITING MINDS WITH AI – simulation of human intelligence in machine was organized by the Department of Artificial intelligence and Data Science on 15th September 2025.
The Session was handled by Ms. Anitha M P, Assistant Professor CSE Department, CET Payyanur. Dr.Shyamily P V , HOD ADS delivered the welcome address. The session began with an icebreaker and the resource person provided insight on the Applications of AI systems in healthcare to analyze medical records, detect patterns and provide faster and more accurate diagnoses. She also elaborated on AI-powered systems in finance that can identify market trends and make investment recommendations. The session was highly interactive, with students showing keen interest in the program. Several students raised queries regarding AI and its advantages and threats, which were well addressed by Ms. Anitha M P. She explained how AI is revolutionizing the field of education by providing personalized learning experience. The session was interactive and it served as a platform for the students to know more about AI.

The Dance Club “Taal The Beat”, under the Hobby Club of SNGCET, brought energy and elegance to the Onam Celebration 2025. A lively flash mob during the Revealing Ceremony on 22nd August 2025 set a joyful tone for the festivities. Later, on 27th August 2025, the club delivered a vibrant dance performance blending traditional and modern styles, which received great appreciation from the audience. The performances highlighted the creativity, teamwork, and spirit of the club, adding charm to the celebration.
A one-day session on Building Rules was successfully conducted on August 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Swami Bodhananda Hall, for S1, S3, S5, S7 and Mtech students of civil engineering department under the joint auspices of LENSFED, the Department of Civil Engineering, and the Civil Engineering Students Association of Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology (SNGCET). Nirthya Ragha – A Cultural Offering by SNGCET Students at Talap Sree Sundareshwara Temple As part of the annual Ulsavam celebrations at the revered Sree Sundareshwara Temple, students from Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering & Technology (SNGCET) organized a vibrant and soulful cultural program titled “Nirthya Ragha”. On April 5, 2025- 7.30 PM the Dance Club and Music Band of Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology (SNGCET) organized a cultural program titled "Nirthya Ragha" at the Sree Sundareswara Temple in Talap, Kannur. The event was part of the temple's annual Ulsavam (festival) celebrations.“Nirthya Ragha” was a fusion of classical and contemporary music and dance performances, highlighting the talents of young artists from SNGCET. The evening began with a devotional music performance by the college music band, setting a serene and spiritual tone to the event. Following the musical prelude, the stage lit up with a series of captivating dance performances. The Hobby Club, in association with the Admission Cell, organized a vibrant and engaging Reels Competition on the theme “Moments of Laughter”, celebrating humor, creativity, and the joyful spirit of the campus community. The event aimed at encouraging students to showcase their wit and editing skills by creating short, laughter-filled videos reflecting campus life, relatable comedy, or spontaneous fun. The competition invited students across all departments to showcase their creativity and sense of humor through short, Instagram-style reels ranging from 30 to 60 seconds. With a submission window of one week, participants submitted their entries online. The competition was open to all students and encouraged a lighthearted take on everyday campus life. Entries were judged based on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, and overall engagement, along with the numbers of views, likes and shares received in Instagram. Participants submitted a diverse range of reels that captured the campus life. From the overwhelming participation, several reels gained viral attention within campus circles through official social media reposts, drawing enthusiastic responses from the student community. Participants explored innovative storytelling formats, creatively blending humor with relatable scenarios, and showcased impressive editing skills and sharp comic timing that added to the charm of their entries. After careful evaluation based on the judging criteria, the following students were recognized: First Prize: Muhammed Zanil, S8 ME Second Prize:Adwaith K, S2 EEE. The event successfully fulfilled its goal of spreading laughter while also highlighting the vibrant student culture at the campus.
