The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) jointly organized the "Workshop on Design Thinking" on November 13th, 2023, at 9:30 AM in SNGCET's seminar hall. The primary objective of the event was to provide a platform for students to present their innovative ideas and showcase their entrepreneurial mindset. The session commenced with a welcoming address from Mr. Jacob Thomas, Assistant Professor of ME (Head Project and Consultancy), expressing gratitude to participants, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic support. Mr. Jacob underscored the importance of fostering creativity and innovation in today's dynamic world, encouraging students to explore new ideas. Dr. Raji Sukumar, IEDC Coordinator, delivered the felicitation speech, commending the ME department and IEDC for organizing an event that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship. She urged students to leverage the resources available at SNGCET for the development of their ideas and projects. Following the address, the workshop, led by Mr. Sadasivan K.K, K-DISC Mentor, commenced. This segment, eagerly anticipated, highlighted the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the students. The presentations covered a diverse range of topics, from software applications to sustainable solutions for real-world problems. Each presentation included a dedicated time for demonstration and Q&A. To conclude the event, Mr. Sudhin Chandran, Head of Department ME, delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to participants, faculty, and students, as well as the management, sponsors, and the IEDC cell for their unwavering support in ensuring the success of the workshop.The "Design Thinking Workshop" session proved highly successful, providing students with a platform to showcase their innovative ideas and receive valuable feedback. It underscored the ME department and IEDC's dedication to cultivating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at SNGCET. Arts serve a vital function in society and human history. Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology has always upheld the importance of extra-curricular activities for student. We believe that it has always been an integral part in development of the students as an individual. The arts fest aims to give our students a platform to showcase their creative abilities from a diverse range of genres; including music, literary arts, performing arts and more and highlights our student’s ambitions, hardwork and teamwork. Layam’23 was celebrated in the college on 9 th and 10 th of November 2023 and was inaugurated by Shri T. K. Rajendran, Vice President Sree Bhakthi Samvardhini Yogam Talap. About 400 plus students from four houses participated in 40 events and competed for the Overall Champions’ trophy. Winners of all the events were honoured.


An online collage making competition conducted on behalf of CESA as part of International day for Disaster Reduction ( October 13). The competition was announced on October 13. The competition was open to all branches. After the submission deadline, the entries were evaluated by a panel of judges .Each collage was assessed based on criteria such as creativity, originality, composition, and adherence to the theme. Sravan P Hegde from S3 CE won collage making competition, from among the entries received until October 19 at 11 am.


The “Logic Luminaries”, a class on Mathematics as tools in engineering for S5 ME, ECE, ECE and CE was conducted on 5 th August, 2023, by the resource person Mr. Shyaman V P, with the aim to explore the pivotal role of mathematical concepts in various engineering disciplines. the session provided an overview of the key topics covered during the class and highlights the significance of Mathematics in solving real world engineering problems.


The Annual General Body meeting of PTA was held on 6 th May, 2023. The meeting began with a silent prayer andthe WelcomeAddress was delivered by Mr. Jacob Thomas HOD ME.
The meeting was presided by the Principal, Dr. Leena A.V and she addressed the gathering and conveyed the importance of the interaction between class tutors and parents. PTA Vice President Sri. Jalaluddeen K.V opined that the students should give more importance to their studies than other activities.
The Annual Report of PTA was presented by PTA Secretary Ms. Leena Narayanan. The outgoing PTA Executive Committee members, Mr.Sasidharan M, Mr.Sadanandan P P and Smt. Sheeba C were honoured with Mementos by the Principal. An Election was conducted and three new members were elected to PTA Executive Committee. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Mary Sonia George, HOD CE.


DYUTHI’23, an integral part of the National level Techfest-UDBHAVA’ 23, was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 27 April 2023 to 29 April 2023. The events started on 27th April with project expo “TECHZITE” which showcased the innovative ideas, technical skills and creativity of the students. Home automation system, line tracking robot, electric train were some of the attractions of the expo. KSEB expo was also organised by the department which included various types of cables, measuring instruments, insulators. From the second day, 28th April 2023, SHOCKAERONZ (high voltage shock room), CARMAZE (remote controlled car game), BLIND CIRCUIT (identify and draw a circuit in team) and JIGSAW PUZZLE were organised in which a large number of participants had taken part. On the third day, 29th April 2023, LOGIQ (technical quiz contest) was conducted with four rounds - Elimination round, MCQ round, Visual round, Rapid fire round. Students from various colleges participated in the competition.


ARCVIL 4.0 The National Level Technical Fest organized by the Department of Civil Engineering SNGCET, Payyannur was held on 27th, 28th , and 29th of April 2023. The event started on 27th April 2023 at 9.30 AM with the Nirmiti Exhibition, which includes the exhibition of various survey instruments and models created by students of the Civil Engineering Department. The second day started with Mix Design Workshop conducted by Mr. Rabeesh A, TTR manager of Ultra Tech Cements Pvt. Ltd. The workshop provided detailed insight into concrete mixing and mix design materials. Blue Print ( Building Plan Drawing Competition ) and Envisage ( Tech-games) were held on 29th April 2023. Numerous participants were there for each items. Rajath Manoharan (S6CE) won first prize in Blue Prints. Basila K V ( S4CE), Fathimath Zuhra ( S6 CE), Neeraj ( S4 CSE), Adithya Krishnan ( S8 CE), Nikhil Sai K ( S8 CE),FathimathulShahana,(S4CE),AshiqueMuhammed(S2CE) Muhammed Shammass ( S2 CE) won first prize in various items of Envisage.


In association with national level Tech fest ‘UDBHAVA-2023’ held on 27th, 28th and 29th April 2023, Departmental Technical programmes are conducted under the banner of ‘YANTRA’ for Mechanical Engineering Department. Various interesting technical programmes, workshops and games are conducted as per the schedule given below.


One of the most interesting workshops was IC Engine Surgery – Engine overhauling workshop headed by Team Tech Sun Pvt. Ltd. 40 students registered and participated in a full day hands on training workshop held on 29th April 2023. In the "IC engine surgery workshop", students get first-hand experience by dis- mantling and assembling a real 4 stroke IC Engine. The hands-on training will make the students explore the knowledge about the design, components, and materials inside the IC engine. It’s a one full day session consists of expert theory class on automobile parts and engine working cycle by Mr. Sharath from Tech sun. Theory Session consists of Principle of IC engine, Basic Components of Engine, Basic Nomenclature, Classification of Engines Operation inside the engine, Basics of Power transmission Spark Plug and fuel injector, Introduction to Alternative fuels, History of automobile, engines, classification. Working cycle, strokes (2 stroke and 4 stroke), Engine Classification - fuel, stroke, CC, arrangement of pistons etc., Components of IC engine, functions, materials, Diesel engines v/s petrol engines, Real time working - animations. It is followed by hands own session on 4 stroke Bajaj pulsar DTSI engine dismantling and assembling as a team of maximum 8 members. Each participant involved in hands on session with so much interest and enthusiasm. The workshop concluded at 4.30 PM


The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted one day Hands on training on PCB Design and Fabrication for students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on 31 March 2023. A Total of 25 students participated in the training session. The students gained hands on experience in PCB Design and Fabrication. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Leena A V, Principal, SNGCET. Welcome addresse was delivered by Mr. Abhilash Krishnan (HoD, EEE). Mr. Archana C P, (AP. EEE) delivered felicitation speech and Mr. Vaishnav TV, student co coordinator delivered vote of thanks. The training session was concluded at 4pm.


The inauguration of the Master plan preparation by the Civil Engineering Department of SNGCET, Payyanur for LIFE Mission project of Government of Kerala was held on 28th March 2023 at Irattakulam in Peringome Village. LIFE Mission (LIFE - Livelihood, Inclusion, Financial, and Empowerment) is a complete housing security scheme implemented by the Government of Kerala with the aim of providing housing to all the homeless in Kerala.
The programme was presided by Smt. P.V. Valsala, President Payyanur Block Panchayath. The master plan preparation for the Life Mission Project was inaugurated by Smt. P. P. Divya, Kannur District Panchayath President. Mr. V M Unnikrishnan, President Peringome Grama Panchayath addressed the gathering. Mr. T J Arun, Local Self Government Department District Joint Director, Mr. Radhakrishnan, Payyanur Tehsildar and Dr. Leena A. V, Principal, SNGCET, Payyanur delivered the felicitation address. The programme concluded after the vote of thanks by LIFE Mission Project Co-ordinator Mr. P V Jaseer.
This project will be implemented in the 7 Acres land under the Revenue Department of Kerala at Irattakulam in Peringome Village. The Master plan will be prepared by the Staff and students of the Department of Civil Engineering, SNGCET.


Faculty development program was organized by the Department of Computer Science And Engineering in association with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from 27 th to 3 rd March, 2023. The Five dayFaculty Development Program included various IoT related topics.
The FDP commenced Lamp Lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest Dr.VinodPottakulathu (Principal of College of Engineering Trikaripur). Mrs. Leena Narayanan, (AP ECE) delivered the welcome speech. Dr.Leena A delivered the The Principal’s address Introduction of resource person was done by Mrs.Meera M (AP,ECE).The felicitation address was followed by Dr. Susan Abraham(DEAN UG,PG), Mr. Jacob Thomas(HOD,ME), Mr. Nikhil M (HOD,H&S).The memento was presented to the chief guest by the Principal. Mr. Sunder V (HOD, CSE) proposed the vote of thanks ceremony.
The sessions were handled by Mr.KathiruSanthikumar (CEO, ALGTHINKFOTECH innovations). The contents of five days FDP included Introduction To Embedded Systems and Embedded Circuits, python programming, microcontroller programming and Raspberry Pi Python programming. Practical session included circuit designing with bread board and examples on programming. FDP concluded with the session in the meeting hall. Certificates were distributed to the FDP participants & the resource person by the chief guest Mr. Premachandran K E (DySP, Payyanur). Dr. Leena A V presided over the function honoured the chief guest with a memento. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Abhaya DK

K P Pavithran (Secretary, SBSY), who spoke about the vision behind establishing the Incubation Cell at SNGCET. Sri. T K Rajendran (Vice President, SBSY), the institution's commitment towards students in providing them with the necessary resources, mentorship, and opportunities to transform their innovative ideas into viable business. The unit will provide a platform for students study LED Bulb manufacturing and start a new start up.


In connection with WORLD AIDS DAY-2022 an AIDS awareness talk was conducted on 01st December 2022. Prof. O Unnikrishnan, HoD Physical Education delivered the welcome speech, he also administered World AIDS Day pledge. The programme was presided by Dr.Susan Abraham, Dean UG& PG. Elaborating on the slogan for 2022 “Equalize”, she mentioned that it is a call to action, urging each of us to address the inequalities which are holding back progress in ending AIDS.
Mr. Rajeev T M, Health Inspector, Family Health Centre, Kankol, Alapadamba Grama Panchayath delivered an awareness talk about AIDS and stressed that AIDS patients should not be stigmatised. The programme was concluded after the vote of thanks by Mr. Vaishakh M Nayanar, AP EEE.
